Words of Wisdom

From Ms. M.E.

Dear Parent(s) and/ or Guardian(s),

First and foremost please let me extend my New Year’s best to all of you. We are now entering the most challenging time of the year. The cold weather can lead to many interruptions in the learning process. It is, however, a great time to READ!

Please spend at least 20 minutes daily for K-2 grades and 30 minutes for 3rd and 4th grades in reading practice. This can be just about anything, including but not limited to recipes, T.V. guides, menus, street signs, and of course, books.

May I suggest that you take the time to read with your child and ask questions about the material read. Using “who”, “what”, “where”, “when” and “how” questions can get everyone thinking about the story. Some of the new graphic story books are very entertaining, and the art is awesome.

So, in closing, may you enjoy a hot cup of cocoa and a good book! Until next month – Ms. M.E.
